Harvest - Creating a Cinematic Sci-Fi Scene

Introduction

In this tutorial we’ll create a futuristic laboratory scene featuring an android and a traditional Japanese woman studying holographic alien anatomy.

Step 1 - Character Design

Create two contrasting characters:

• A highly detailed white humanoid android.
• A Japanese woman wearing a traditional blue kimono with elegant hair ornaments.

The contrast between ancient culture and advanced technology creates visual interest.

Step 2 - Environment

Generate a futuristic research facility.

Include:

• Large panoramic windows
• Neon city skyline
• Blue lighting
• Reflective floor
• Advanced computer systems
• Transparent holographic displays

Step 3 - Holographic Interface

Instead of a solid monitor, use a transparent floating display.

Display:

• Alien anatomy
• DNA information
• Biological scans
• Energy readings
• Scientific symbols

Make sure the display remains transparent so the characters are visible through it.

Step 4 - Lighting

Use cinematic lighting.

Recommended:

• Cool blue lighting
• Soft rim lighting
• Neon reflections
• Slight atmospheric haze

Step 5 - Camera Composition

Position the camera behind the android while showing the woman in profile.

Use a wide cinematic composition with the holographic screen between them.

Step 6 - Animation

Animate the scene using slow movements.

Include:

• Flickering holograms
• Floating interface graphics
• Gentle breathing
• Slight head movements
• Camera slowly orbiting the characters
• Rain outside the windows
• Distant flying vehicles

Final Tips

Keep movements subtle. Small details create a more believable futuristic world than excessive motion.
